Biology and Chemistry: Exploring Life and Matter

Immerse yourself in the microscopic world and the transformations of matter through fascinating experiments and cutting-edge laboratory instruments. In our laboratories you can observe the details of life up close and discover the chemical principles that govern our world.

With the microscope you will analyze biological slides, observing cells and microorganisms to understand the extraordinary complexity of life invisible to the naked eye. But science is not just observation: it is also transformation and direct experience.

Take part in engaging experiments such as the production of bioplastic, an innovative alternative to traditional materials, or the flame test, which reveals the hidden colors of chemical elements through spectacular light reactions. You will also have the opportunity to use the rotary evaporator, a professional instrument used in research laboratories to separate and purify chemical compounds, discovering the practical applications of chemistry in the pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.

From microscopic observation to the manipulation of matter, the biology and chemistry laboratory will guide you on an extraordinary journey to discover the foundations of science.

Physics: Experimenting to Understand the World

Physics is all around us, from the forces that regulate movement to the electrical and magnetic phenomena we use every day. In our laboratories, you can explore these principles through practical and engaging experiments, discovering the most fascinating side of science.

Test magnetism with experiments on magnets, observing how magnetic fields influence matter. Discover the secrets of surface tension with soap bubbles, which hide surprising physical laws.

But it doesn't end there: you can experiment with electrical, optical and mechanical phenomena, participating in demonstrations that make the laws that govern the universe tangible. Each experiment will be an opportunity to touch physics with your own hands, transforming abstract concepts into concrete and intuitive experiences.

A laboratory designed for those who want to explore, discover and be amazed by the wonder of natural laws!

Astronomy: A Journey Through the Stars

Are you ready to explore the universe? Thanks to our latest-generation professional telescopes, you can observe the details of the Moon, the planets and the most fascinating objects in the sky. Furthermore, with advanced astronomical simulation software, you can navigate between distant galaxies, understand the movement of celestial bodies and discover the mysteries of deep space. A unique experience for those who dream of traveling among the stars!

An Experience to Live
The laboratories of the Festival delle Scienze are open to everyone: students, enthusiasts, the curious. It is not only an opportunity to learn, but a way to touch science with your own hands, making it fascinating, engaging and concrete.

Robotics: Build, Program, Invent

In the robotics lab, theory and practice come together to create innovative and interactive projects. If you've always dreamed of building and programming a robot, here you can do it with cutting-edge tools such as Arduino and Lego for educational robotics.

Thanks to Arduino, one of the most used platforms in the world of robotics and automation, you will learn to program microcontrollers and create circuits capable of interacting with the environment through sensors and motors. With Lego for robotics, you can build modular robots and program them to perform specific movements and tasks, developing logic, problem-solving and design skills.

From programming to assembly, this lab is an opportunity to explore the world of artificial intelligence and engineering, experimenting with the technologies that are revolutionizing the future.

School Times: The School Newspaper

School Times was born in 2004 as a digital-only format when Professor Vittoria Saccà, with enthusiasm and great dedication, ensured that the Scientific High School had a newspaper where students could challenge themselves in the fascinating world of writing.

When this legacy of experience and countless stories was entrusted to us in 2009, we embarked on a new adventure by creating a stable editorial team composed of students from all classes of our high school. The students had the opportunity to experience firsthand how information is created, how events can be reported, and, even more importantly, how to tell stories that directly concern us.

However, something was missing—something that Professor Saccà had also fought for and that students had always requested: a print edition, a newspaper to flip through and archive. This experience continued until the 2014-2015 school year.

After this long pause, thanks to PNRR funds, we were given the opportunity to rebuild the editorial team with new students and new technological tools.

Thanks to the commitment and hard work of the student editorial team, the school newspaper's website has come to life. It will feature news about school activities as well as reflections, comments, in-depth articles, and curiosities sparked by the creativity of our budding journalists.

The School Times experience, which we hope will last for a long time, is fully aligned with the new educational guidance pathways. It offers a training process aimed primarily at helping students develop self-awareness, recognize their talents, and refine their abilities.
